A free festival to celebrate older people at which everyone was welcome.

Capital Age Festival moved to the Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall this year to showcase some of the most exciting music and dance from older artists and companies from across the capital and beyond. From 1-5pm on Friday 11 July, festival goers experienced the rhythm and energy of jazz from the Matt Ross Quintet, dance from the Company of Elders, Leap of Faith, and bebop tap hoofer Will Gaines, plus song from Totlyn Jackson and the Hoxton Singers.

At the heart of the festival was the Big Chair Dance, showcased after weeks of preparation in the Clore Ballroom at Royal Festival Hall. Advancing years are no barrier to creativity!
